Grillin' With Bobby Flay
This dinner at Casa de Pickell was a theme dinner based on the recipes of Bobby Flay for the grill.
Starting off with glasses of Margaritas, BA and Mike Dalberg presented, first, Grilled Eggplant with Fresh Ricotta and a Grilled Tomato Basil Relish and then Grilled Shrimp with Lemon-Dill Butter and Orzo Salad. These were served with a Simi Chardonnay.
The Entree prepared by The Pickell Girls, Marlene, Brittany and Margaux with a special guest appearance by Frank, was Spice Rubbed Smoked Ribs with Maple- Horseradish Baste. Creamy Cole Slaw, a Mesa Grill Southwestern Potato Salad and Buttermilk Onion Rings with Grilled Tomato Aioli. These were served with a Villa Farnia Di Farnese, Italia, Montepluciano D'Abruzzo 2008 and a Chapel Vineyard, Chile, Cabernet Sauvignon, 2007.
The Dessert, prepared by Carrie and Phil Apruzzi was Mangoes Foster with Creme Fraiche. This was served with a Late Harvest- Sauvignon Blanc 2007 Chile and a Muscat de Beaumes de Venise 2006 France
